Over the last eight years, Dogecoin has been called a lot of things. A joke. The people’s crypto. We sometimes called it the taxicab of crypto (as it was the cheapest way to move between exchanges). But one thing has always been true about it: Dogecoin is Community. That’s why we had to bring RivrDoge to the Moonriver Network: The Community-Led Sister Parachain on Kusama.
Why Moonriver?
It’s been a “ruff” few months in the crypto world, but if you were around in 2013, you might recall a time when crypto was early, fun, and experimental. Dogecoin was born from that chaos. The current explosion of new chains is reminiscent of those days and none of these new chains embody that chaos better than MoonriverNW, from the Moonbeam Foundation.
The Moonriver Network is Community-Led (the community owns a majority of the MOVR tokens). The Network exists as an Experimental Parachain on the Kusama Network — which is itself the Experimental, Canary Network of Polkadot. In this cauldron of community, experimentation, and fun, RivrDoge plans to celebrate this explosion of new chains!
A Trio of Seconds!
Moonriver won the second Kusama parachain auction. RivrDoge was the second dogecoin on MoonriverNW. And RivrDoge is available for purchase on the second DEX (first permissionless) on Moonriver: Moonfarm! In the spirit of memes and fun, we had to engage in some friendly meme combat with the first dogecoin on the network.
Tokenomics and Our Promise
What we will do:
- Post the RivrDoge website;
- Pay for some light marketing (e.g., twitter influencer, CMS);
- Mod the Telegram for a month and put it to a community vote whether we continue in a lead role;
- Take all the credit if you make money in the process; and
- Burn team tokens (keeping some to retire) if directed by community vote.
What we don’t do:
- Rug pull funds;
- Heavy marketing;
- Have a detailed roadmap; or
- Refund if the market does not like RivrDoge.
The Tokenomics are simple:
- Total capped supply (no more RivrDoge can be minted) of 1,000,000,000 RivrDoge.
- 960,000,000 RivrDoge were paired with just 1.5 MOVR tokens and stealth launched on Moonfarm September 1, 2021 (4% were retained as team/marketing/misc funds).
- No “initial burn” or other ponzinomics and no whitelist, no presales, no pre-mine, no tomfoolery.
- Finally, while we like being second at RivrDoge, we were the FIRST coin on Moonriver to use the Mooncrypt Liquidity Locker on Moonfarm to lock liquidity for one year.
